Founded by Eric Josefson and Justin Heisig, The Burn Down is a podcast with conversations with people from all walks of life. From interviews with professional athletes like Ed Reed and John Starks, to singers and comedians like Ruben Studdard and Rocky Dale Davis, to mobsters and entrepreneurs like Billy Cutolo Jr. and Armando Montelongo, cigar makers like Robert Caldwell and Tony Gomez even military veterans like Ray “Cash” Care. Why is New York trying to kill off cigars?! Unfortunately, even though cigars make such a small portion of tobacco sales overall. Cigars still get lumped into cigarettes, vape etc.
New York State Legislature is introducing another tobacco bill that could increase the tax on cigars in New York state to a minimum of 95% of the wholesale price!!!
Currently, cigars are taxed at 75% in New York, already amongst the highest in the nation!!
